Sports is a great theme for romance stories. I happen to be an avid sports watcher...football, basketball, baseball, tennis, NASCAR, some golf but hockey isn't popular

I love and watch all sports, so of course I enjoy sports romance books.
Anne said…
I enjoy them as long as the actual sports stuff is more background than a big part of the main story. I read one book labeled romance that spent 80% of the book with the male main character at work. Talking about drills and stuff. Blech.

I've never read one before, but I think I would enjoy it.

Sports romance is the best when the man is hot, sweaty, and well-built and the female character can't help but gawk over his manliness.
Unknown said…
I just love them. They are just another way to find romance other than the office.

I have never really read any sports romance.

As long as the writing is good and the romance is sweet, I'm okay with sports as part of the theme/setting.

For me it depends on the story. The sports isnt really the main thing for me it is how interesting the romance part is
I haven't found a sports romance book I have loved yet. I suppose I have to have some interest in sport am reading about.

I love sports, but I'm not a big fan of stories based primarily on romance. I'm a bigger fan of romantic suspense. I suppose this is because I prefer stories that are less focused on romance.

I haven't read many. I like them when they are well-written and the sports involved are not too bloody with too much description of pain.

I have read some amazing sport stories that revolve around romance, suspense and other major book genres. One of my most recent favorites is Girl Underwater by Claire Kells. The H/h were collegiate swimmers that are involved in a plane crash and the aftermath.

I enjoy the fun bantering that the sports characters usually have with each other. It's fun being "in the locker room", figuratively, lol.
